Meet The Presenters

Nick Lamparelli, ARe, ARM
Nick Lamparelli is a 20+ year veteran of the insurance wars. He has a unique vantage point on the insurance industry. From selling home & auto insurance, helping companies with commercial insurance, to being an underwriter with an excess & surplus lines wholesaler to catastrophe modeling Nick has wide experience in the industry. Over past 10 years, Nick has been focused on the insurance analytics of natural catastrophes and big data. Nick serves as our Chief Evangelist.

Cindy Baroway, CPCU, M.Ed
With over 30 years of RMI industry experience, working on the insurer side and as an expert witness and in higher education, Cindy has a broad perspective of the RMI industry. She has been actively involved in the CPCU Society since receiving her designation in 1998, including serving twice as President of the Colorado Chapter of the CPCU Society and serving as the President and Chair of the CPCU Society’s Leadership Council from 2013-2014.

Tim Christ, MBA
20+ years of insurance claims, forensic engineering, management consulting and insurtech advisory work! Executive leadership for companies of over 100 staff members. Have investigated insurance claims of up to $1 billion in value with global litigation/arbitration experience. Regular contributor to PC360 magazine with a number of thought leadership articles, including the March 2022 cover story on Investigating the Surfside Condo Collapse.

Rita Williams-Bogar, MBA, CPCU
Rita provides consultative services to businesses and individuals in the areas of leadership development, emotional intelligence, ethics, diversity, strategic thinking & planning, professional growth, and insurance education. She is a keynote speaker for insurance industry and professional associations. Using a client-centered approach, Rita provides workshops custom tailored to her clients’ needs. Her mission is to share strategies to help people reach their potential.

Theresa Young, MBA, CPCU
Dr. Young is 22-yr leader at CSAA, part of the AAA Insurance Family. She has held a variety of product management and claims process roles, culminating in her current role as Homeowner Claims Operations Process Manager. She is a forward-thinking leader, evidenced by significant process and technology changes she has implemented at CSAA that have created incredible results. She is a frequent national speaker and writer on insurance claims and process topics, including her recent whitepaper on The Analog to Digital Transformation of Property Claims Handling.

Tyler Skelly, CPCU
Tyler Skelly is a Senior Underwriter at Berkley Public Entity, where she specializes in insurance and reinsurance solutions for public entities and scholastic institutions. Prior to joining BPE in 2021, Tyler spent seven years in the Alternative Risks division at Old Republic Specialty Insurance Underwriters.

Lauren Ascenzi, CPCU
Team Supervisor with a strong knowledge of the insurance industry. Skilled in Analytical Skills, Insurance, Communication, Coaching & Mentoring, and Training. Maintains several professional designations along with working as a DOBI approved Personal Lines Pre-Licensing Instructor.

Desire Galanos, CPCU
Desiré is an underwriter in the commercial lines department at USLI focusing on different products that help small businesses primarily obtain insurance on the property and general liability side. She started her insurance career six years ago after graduating from Bryant University with her finance and applied analytics degree.

Henry Reese, CPCU, APA
Experienced insurance professional with 20+ years of strategic thinking focused on best practices and process improvements. Skilled in Commercial Lines underwriting and premium auditing. Premium Audit subject-matter-expert for legal, collections and special investigations departments.

John Anello, JD
John Anello is an associate in the New Jersey office of Callahan and Fusco. Mr. Anello has maintained an insurance practice for more than five years and currently devotes his practice to insurance defense, products liability, personal injury, and commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.
Prior to joining Callahan and Fusco, Mr. Anello represented insurance carriers and businesses in a wide range of complex issues related to insurance coverage, audits, retroactive premiums, and deductibles.

Adam Carmichael
Experienced analytics leader specializing in turning quantitative and qualitative data into actionable business recommendations. Strong analytical, judgement, and creative problem-solving skills applied in a customer-focused and innovative environment. Experience using customer data to identify and prioritize business growth opportunities. Team leader able to drive results across cross-functional groups.

Jan Scites, JD
Ms. Scites is CEO and President of MSO, Inc. She has been with MSO since 2007 and is a member of the MSO, Inc. Board of Trustees. Prior to MSO, Inc., Ms. Scites held senior management positions at AT&T as Vice President, Broadband and Corporate Strategy and as Vice President, Business Customer Care. As Vice President Business Customer Care she managed an organization of 17,000 with a budget over 1.4B. At Connecticut Mutual Ms. Scites served as President of Customer Service and served as President of Phoenix Equity Planning Corporation, a broker dealer, at Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Sue Quimby, CPCU
Sue joined MSO in 1991. She serves as MSO’s Vice President/Media Editor Client Services and Training, and Senior Product Development Analyst. Sue’s job responsibilities include product development – creation of manuals and forms for MSO as well as member companies, writing monthly articles for industry publications, and providing educational seminars and webinars. She is Director of MSO’s Continuing Education school which currently is approved in NJ, PA, DE, MD, CT, NH and VA.
Prior to MSO, Sue spent 14 ½ years as a property/casualty producer in independent agencies.

Kristin Lentine, CPCU, AINS
Kristin is an onboarding Supervisor with a seven years of industry knowledge. She takes pride in developing and executing change management plans, to ensure a successful Onboarding process for New Hires in the Contact Center. Kristin maximizes team knowledge and productivity by mentoring, monitoring and directing employees towards best practices and regulatory protocols. She’s earned her CPCU and AINS designations.
Laura Panesso has 25 years in the insurance industry, holding various positions of increasing responsibility in data management and analysis, analytic product management, and government relations with Insurance Services Office, Inc.. In her current position as Assistant Vice President - State Relations, Laura is responsible for all insurance department interactions including filings, education, outreach, and relationship management, provides leadership in the regulatory acceptance of Risk Analyzer, telematics, and other advanced analytics to facilitate customer adoption and use, and manages ISO's statistical agent functions.

Lisa Arduini
Lisa is a member of the Human Resources Department and works as a Talent Acquisition Specialist. She earned her degree in Management with a Concentration in Human Resources from Fairfield University. Lisa has held various roles in the Human Resources field, giving her a unique perspective in her approach to recruiting talent. She leverages her 12 years of experience in the field, half of which have been in the insurance industry, to attract and place talent at NJM Insurance Group’s three New Jersey based offices.

Bob Horst is the Managing Partner at the law firm Horst Krekstein & Runyon LLC. Representing insurers, Bob’s practice focuses uniquely on first party property coverage. One of Bob’s greatest interests, both personally and professionally, is the intersection between ethics and decision-making
